Power in Motion Training for Performance
POWER IN MOTION is an integrated performance enhancement program designed specifically for tennis players. The purpose is to enhance athletic power and overall performance and reduce the risk of injury.

The program focuses on improving the main components of athleticism including flexibility, explosive power, functional strength, speed and agility by improving movement in all planes of motion and learning proper moving mechanics.

The program is done in phases. Each phase concentrates on different training components and lasts approximately 6 weeks.

One of the main advantages of the program includes low costs. It is personal training in a group setting designed for tennis players of all levels.

The benefits include improved body composition, improved posture, greater ease during daily activities, increased bone density, and reduced stress and anxiety.
Whether you're a professional or recreational athlete, you'll improve your overall athletic ability and performance while reducing the risk of injury.
KEY ELEMENTS TO PROGRAM
» Fitness testing and reassessments. The tests are used to determine your fitness level and to determine areas that need improvement. The tests are done at the beginning and end of each phase.

» Flexibility Training. Flexibility is the range of motion around a joint. Tennis requires different body positions such as reaching, stopping, starting and serving. Increased flexibility helps to reduce injuries.

» Anaerobic and Aerobic Fitness Training. Tennis requires short bursts of energy which requires anaerobic fitness. In a tennis match you have 25 seconds between points and 90 seconds between games. Aerobic fitness allows you to recover faster between points.

» Core Training. The core is the center of the body and the beginning point for all movement. A strong core is necessary for efficient movement.

» Dynamic Balance and Stabilization Training. Stabilization is the ability to stabilize a joint during movement. Balance is the ability to maintain and control the body's position. Both are the keys to functional movement during tennis.

» Functional Strength and Endurance Training. Tennis requires all types of movement in different directions. Functional strength is your ability to handle your body weight in all planes of motion. Strength endurance is needed to sustain performance at the beginning and end of a match.

» Speed and Agility Training. Speed involves moving as fast as possible in one direction. Agility is the ability to start, stop and change direction quickly. Increasing speed and agility will allow you to get to the ball more quickly and prepare for your shot.

» Explosive Power Training. Tennis requires explosive movements. Power is the combination of strength and speed and allows you to respond more quickly and produce more force when hitting the ball.
